Great shorts for boys! I would recommend them and will continue purchasing them for my boys! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
These are so comfortable! They pair really well with the Men's Under Armour Atlantic Dune Flip Flops!
I bought these shorts in size YS for my son who just turned 8. He is tall and thin and they fit him perfectly--they are not too big at all. For the reviewer who purchased a size YXL instead of YL for their 9-year-old, I wanted to mention that my 11-year-old twins who are slightly above average height and medium build wear a size YL. One time I had them try on YXL and they were ridiculously huge around the waist. Unless your son is overweight, I would skip from a size YL to an Adult S.
These shorts are so big, I could use them as a parachute. Absolutely unbelievable, UA!
On a more serious note, I would recommend sizing down one size. Also, even with the sizing issue, I would still recommend these shorts as the material is amazing. It is the smooth fabric found in their T-shirts.
My 9 year old son has many UA items. He currently wears YL shorts so I thought, in order to fit him next spring/summer, I'd up it a size to YXL. These shorts are enormous!! It's too bad but I'l have to send them back...
I have been finding recently that UA gear sizing is all over the place and not reliable or consistent is sizing.
My son has 3 pair and loves them but the hem came loose in all of them.
My son is at the age where I'm never sure if I should buy a youth XL, youth 2x, or adult small. Thanks to a different review I knew that these ran large so I went with the youth XL. They are a little long but he LOVES them - and I love the fact that he should be able to wear them for longer than three months!
My son has worn only UA shorts for the last 4 years (he's only 9) and this is the first year where the shorts are ridiculously big / long. He currently wears a medium, has been for about 18 months. Those are now too short so I ordered a large. They look like a men's large. He's completely swimming in them. So disappointing.
